Hello friends.

Just wanted to give a little update on some little tid bitty things going on in Noah’s life right now, things that may not come through in the photos or videos that we post…

First of all, our little fellow has been calling me “Mama” for a month or two now. He was calling me “Papa” for a while, and somehow, he got things a bit turned around somewhere. We play a game now, almost every day, where he pats me on the shoulder, or my leg, and says “Mama,” tapping me twice, once for each syllable. Then I say, “Thank you…but my name is Papa,” to which Noah swiftly replies “Mama,” with two more taps.

This can go on for several minutes at a time, and he seems dead set on not calling me Papa anymore, at least for now.

So, Bari and I are both “Mama,” which, in a way, is kind of sweet. He also called our dear friend, Ariel, “Mama” the other day, so perhaps it just means “family,” or “someone I love.”

In other linguistic news, he’s practicing lots and lots of sounds and words these days. He’s constantly, and I mean that literally, in motion. If he’s awake, he’s moving and exploring and climbing and walking and running around…and now he’s talking a lot when he’s doing all of that.

He’s pretty much got “tractor” down, and the first part of “Bus.” He learned “broccoli” last week (he loves to eat it), and now he’s saying “doggie” and then barking, rather than just barking when he sees a dog.

He’s got a little toy phone that says some words and he’s picked up the word “doctor” from it, though I doubt he knows what it means…yet.

He’s constantly waving to people when we hike and saying “hi-ee”, or, he simply waves at them as they approach, and then starts giving them lots of very sweet “bye-bye’s”. He generally sings “bye” about 10 times when someone leaves or is going away from him. Very sweet, this little one.

In other news, the boy is pushing out some serious teeth…lots of them, seemingly all at once. Somehow, at his young age, he’s managed to push out a molar already. That had to hurt. That brings the total tooth count up to 9, I believe, and, oh…wait, make that 10…another front tooth broke through just today. And there are about two or three others that seem ready to break the surface.

Needless to say, he’s been a bit cranky and irritated in the past weeks during the night, though he’s sleeping better now.

I supposed that’s enough update news for now.

It’s about that time to put the little guy to bed, so I should be off to help my little friend go to sleep for the night.

Much love to all…
