For family day today, we drove down to the Colorado Train Museum in Golden, just about 25 minutes away.

This is the first time Noah has seen real live old trains like this, and, the first time he’s ever ridden on a train.

Part of the big draw for the event, for Noah, was that he was going to get to see the Easter Bunny and get a treat. However, when faced with the reality of a guy in a large bunny suit, he was a bit scared and wouldn’t get close enough to get the treat, so Mama got it for him. He said the Easter Bunny was too scary, and that he liked the little baby Easter bunny he had at home.

We had a great time getting on and off all the parked trains, exploring them and ringing the bells, and, we had a great time going for a ride on a train built in 1880, which is the steam engine you see in the movie.

The time came and Noah’s legs were finally long enough to allow him to get his first run-bike…a bike that has no pedals or brakes.

Bubby Sue and Grampa Jeff helped us get this bike for the little monkey (thanks, guys!), and he’s been in love with it since the moment he got on it.

The first three days we had it, he wouldn’t let us leave it in the car…it had to be in the house, where he could ride it around and around the living room and kitchen. I know how he feels! (Papa loves his new bike just as much

It didn’t take him long to figure out how to ride the bike, and as soon as he got it, he stated looking for the biggest hill he could find to go down…picking up his feet and balancing on the bike and picking up speed. We are going to have our hands full with Noah for quite some time I think…

Lots and lots has been happening for the little guy during this, our first family vacation!

We’ve been up at the cottage in Linden Hills since last Saturday night, and have been having a very fun time with Noah. He’s really happy with all of the people here, both in the cottage and on the beach. Lots of babies and little ones near his age. So many new things he’s experiencing for the first time. It’s really quite special to bring him here to this place, a place that has been in our family for 5 generations now.

Below, you can see him taking his first ride in a boat that his grampa Popo built him. We decided to name the boat “Noah’s Arrrk,” pronounced with a pirate growl at the end there. He loved going for a ride in his new boat!

Today he took his first sailboat ride with Grama and Papa. He loved sailing quite a bit and was banging his hands on the boat…a sure sign that he’s excited and enjoying himself.

He also got to meet his Great Grama, Betty Davis, for the first time. He was way into her cane

All in all, half way through the vacation, Noah is having a blast. He loves everyone! Wants to hug lots of people and touch them and say hi. He waves to the seagulls and doggies. Wants to play with little kids. And wow, does he ever like his corn on the cob! He ate an entire ear of corn tonight, all by himself!

We love our Nooey!!!

He’s been walking each day on his own a bit, but only when we stand him up in front of one of us and call him over. He’ll walk the 4 or 5 feet in his adorable wobble walk. Sometimes he really gets into it and wants to go back and forth between the two of us. Other times, once is enough and if we stand him up to try again, he cries and folds himself in two, refusing to stand.

Tonight he had a great dinner: goat cheese bits, smoked salmon, carrot cake muffin, and corn on the cob. Wow does he ever like corn on the cob!

In a few days, we’ll be taking him on his first plane ride to Chicago, as we make our way for his first time to the cottage, to Linden Hills, to the beach, and to meet Grama and Uncle John for the first time. This will be a summer to remember, that’s for sure.
